Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The nominations for the 97th Academy Awards, honoring films released in 2024, were announced on January 23, 2025. The ceremony is scheduled for March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, with Conan O’Brien set to host. The total number of individual nominees across all categories is not specified in the available sources. However, considering the 23 award categories and the multiple individuals nominated in each (such as actors, directors, writers, and technical roles), it is estimated that several hundred individuals have received nominations. The film “Emilia Perez” leads with 13 nominations, followed by “The Brutalist” and “Wicked,” each with 10 nominations.

- Surprises-Nosferatu It’s surprising to see a horror picture win so many prizes, just like The Substance, although Nosferatu hasn’t received as much attention as The Substance. Its four nominations for Production Design, Cinematography, Costume Design, and Makeup and Hairstyling are a significant surprise.
- Monica Barbaro-A Complete Unknown has been gathering traction in recent months, and Barbaro’s Best Supporting Actress nomination cements the academy’s admiration for the picture.

Category -best supportive actress for”A completely unknwon”.I “am” London right now and i am mid- fitting with costume designer jenny eaggan. She kept her refreshing her phone, and i was like ,i dont’ want to know anything. I looked at my phone and fell on the floor .I’am elated. This is surreal.”
Yura Borisov-“It`s a lots of emotions people are calling and text me everybody is happy I can’t understand what is i am feeling right now

The actor earned a double nomination at the Golden Globes for Best Actor in both categories — but he won for the comedy A Different Man. At the Oscars, he’s just nominated for portraying Donald Trump in The Apprentice.
Leading Nominations:
“Emilia Pérez”: This French musical drama about a transgender drug lord leads with 13 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director for Jacques Audiard, and Best Actress for Karla Sofía Gascón. Gascón’s nomination marks the first time an openly transgender performer has been nominated in the Best Actress category
“The Brutalist” and “Wicked”: Both films garnered 10 nominations each. “The Brutalist” is recognized for its architectural epic narrative, while “Wicked” is an adaptation of the popular Broadway musical.
